Critical Care
Critical care department of Heart Hospital Patna is a fully equipped, state of the art department, manned by well experienced qualified and dedicated Team of Intensivist, Nurses and Support Staff.
Critical care department established in January 1995 is the oldest and first in the region to have advanced coronary care unit (CCU). CCU routinely manage cases of cardiogenic shock, Heart block, Heart failure, Myocardial Infarction and Respiratory failure with required non invasive and invasive measures including placements of Central lines, IABP, Transcutaneous pacing. Etc. CCU is supported by a minor OT with image intensifier for speedy placement of Temporary Pacemaker and invasive procedures.
Critical care is furnished with latest technology, sufficient numbers of most advanced Monitors, Ventilators, Defibrillator, Pacemakers, IABP,
ABG machines and Crash Carts and above all the best of human skills to provide ultimate care. Crash Carts are maintained in accordance of AHA, CPR guidelines (2010) with all necessary life saving medications and equipments.
Department follow strict aseptic precaution and barrier nursing to prevent infection. CCU has OZ-AIR ACEPICIZER VERSION 05 to maintain sterile, aseptic and fresh environment in CCU that aid in faster recovery.
Department expanded in 2006, by adding six bedded Surgical ICU (CTVS ICU) with the establishment of Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery Unit to care post operative patient. CTVS ICU care patient of open heart surgery in all respect.
We routinely conduct training session for our Doctor’s, Nursing and Paramedical staff as par guideline of international society.
Critical care in very near future is to be expanded by adding Dialysis, Neurology and Pulmonary unit to provide comprehensive care of complicated cardiac patients.
